About Me

Hi, thanks for dropping by!

I'm a master of architecture student at University of Reading and this is my personal website related to my design research unit.  I earned my Bachelor of Architecture degree at UoR and over the past four years I have developed an interest in identifying the best ways to preserve our cultural heritage.

I believe in the importance of preserving our existing built environment as they are valued for their essential history, their intrinsic sense of collective memory, and the physical contribution that they make to the built environment. I’m interested in the adaptive reuse of the built heritage and finding suitable functions for the existing buildings, whilst ensuring they are in the right place for contemporary needs, of an appropriate size and shape for modern life, and are suitable for the dynamic exchange necessary within a digital age.

My research interest is to examine the way Temple Church and Gardens interacts with social, economic and environmental conditions to create the opportunity for changes of use that subsequently extend the available lifetime of the building. I believe that without a balance between culture, history and ecology, design and development are inevitably transient and unsustainable.
